Obituary

Richard Lee (Ricky) Cleveland was born in Anderson, SC on February 23, 1967. On December 1, 2020, Ricky left his earthly home of 53 years to join his Lord and Savior in his eternal home in heaven, after a very short 3-week battle with cancer. Ricky LOVED the Georgia Bulldogs! Ricky was a Foreman with Wright Tree Service and a faithful member of House of Prayer church. Ricky loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart and was a bold witness to every person he met. He had a heart for serving the broken, the homeless, the hopeless and the addicted. He genuinely wanted every person to be saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His love for Jesus, his family and his infectious sense of humor will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that he is now forever in the presence of his beloved Savior, free of cancer and suffering no more! Ricky leaves behind his cherished wife Pametha, stepson Brandon Evans, step-daughter Stephanie Machen (John), and grandchildren Bentley, Chassidy and Aubrey, his loving mother Vicki Bowman (JR), and father Gary Cleveland, brothers Brian Cleveland (Tracy), Peewee Cleveland (Kathy), Bo Kane (Liz), Jonathan Cleveland, Christopher Cleveland, and sisters Karri Griggs (Dre), and Tracy Wallace (Tater). Also left behind are a host of nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly. Ricky is also survived by his maternal aunt, Patti Turner (David), paternal uncle, Rev. Carlton Cleveland (Margaret), paternal aunt, Carol McGee (Mack) and many cousins. Ricky was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Lake and Frances Upchurch, paternal grandparents, Luther and Flora Cleveland and by an infant sister Jaime Lyn Fuller. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2020, from 4:30-6:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.
