Ricky Dwane Mitchell, Sr., age 63, of Iva, SC, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at his residence. Born September 11, 1958, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late George Mitchell and Thelma Spearman Mitchell. Ricky loved racing, and working on cars, lawn mowers and anything that needed fixing. He also loved being a DJ and karaoke. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He worked at Owens Corning and was a member of Neals Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons, Ricky Dwane Mitchell, Jr., and Harley Isaac Mitchell; daughter, Morrise Leigh Mitchell; brother, Roger Mitchell (Lisa); sisters, Carolyn Vaughn (James), and Nancy Smith. He is also survived by four grandchildren and best friend, Drew "Puddin" Bannister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Mitchell. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Ashley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
