Ricky Erwin Simpson, 69, of Iva, SC, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born January 2, 1957, in Anderson, South Carolina, Ricky was the son of Edna S. Smith and the late Grady W. Simpson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents Jesse and Dessie Simpson and William and Mary Hill; a nephew, William Dale Simpson; and his stepfather, James R. Smith.

Ricky was a 1975 graduate of Crescent High School and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by siblings Rita S. Metz (Ottman) and Guy Simpson (Linda); niece Kayla M. Vaughn; nephews Kevin Metz, Korey Metz, and Brent Simpson; and four great-nephews and three great-nieces. Ricky is also survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chase Cleveland officiating.
