Ricky Dean Thomason, age 60, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born July 6, 1960 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Davis M. Thomason and Bobbie J. Meredith Thomason. Ricky was a 1978 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and was an independent insurance broker. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time at the beach and on the lake. He was an avid Clemson football fan and liked to eat breakfast at Mama Penn's every Monday through Saturday and then Bojangles on Sunday. Ricky loved his family dearly and enjoyed being a father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Jason Thomason (Anna); daughter, Courtney Rosado (Jacob); fianc, Melissa George; grandson, Jax Mitchell Thomason; sister, Sharon Thomason; step-daughter, Christy Towe; and cousin, Raye Lawing. The family will receive friends Monday, April 5, 2021, from 4:00-5:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 6:00 pm with Rev. Rob White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
