MRS. RITA ROGERSNOVEMBER 2, 1942 - NovemBER 1, 2008PENDLETON, SCRita Sue Rogers, age 65, of 312 Rogers Road passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Emberville, Tennessee on November 2, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Casey and Georgia Kate Lockner Smith. Mrs. Rogers retired from Michelin Tire Company and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she was formerly active within the Seniors Group and the Pastors Sunday School Class.Survivors include her children: a son, Wister Daniel Rogers of Pendleton; a daughter, Rhonda Kate Elgin and husband, Philip Henry Elgin of Pendleton; a granddaughter, Amanda Kate Elgin; two sisters, Charlotte Ann Mauk of Easley and Gladys Buchanan of Tennessee; and one brother, Ronald Shorter of Michigan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Wister Ernest Rogers and a brother, James Shorter.The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverend Dave Shorter, the Reverend Keith Shorter, and the Reverend Larry Shorter.
