ROBERT KNOX ALLEN, SR. September 8, 1924 - May 5, 2013 Mr. Robert Knox Allen, Sr., age 88, of Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home, Anderson, SC, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born in Bristol, TN, he was the son of the late J Everett Allen and the late Helen Sitgreaves Allen. For sixty-five years, he was the loving and devoted husband of the late Wilma Owen Allen until her death in 2009. Knox was a graduate of Tennessee High School in Bristol, TN, and attended East Tennessee State College in Johnson City, TN. He was a sales consultant representing Oliver Farm Equipment and Federated Insurance Company. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Orange, VA. Mr. Allen proudly served his country during WW II in the US Army Air Corps. Survivors include a son, Robert Knox Allen, Jr. "Jay", and his wife, Jody Ann, of Orange, VA; 2 daughters, Cheryl Allen Atkinson and her husband, Vinnie, of Seneca, SC, and Candace "Candy" Allen Moore and her husband, Jody, of Summerton, SC; also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the home of Cheryl and Vinnie Atkinson, 260 Webb Heights Circle, Seneca, SC, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 6 PM until 8 PM. A Graveside Service to celebrate the life of Robert Knox Allen, Sr. will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 2 PM, at the Glenwood Shelby Hills Cemetery, 839 Bluff City Highway, Bristol, TN, with Rev. Barbara Doyle officiating. In lieu of floral contributions, donations in memory of Mr. Allen may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 143 W.
