Johnson Austin, died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born June 4, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gene was a son of the late Bert and Eursla McAninch Austin. He retired from Century Equipment in Sharonville, OH and was a member of the First Christian Church of Greenwood, SC.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Freda M. Johnson Austin; sons, Rubert Eugene Austin and his wife, Ginger, of Anderson, SC and Mark Allen Austin and his wife, Sheri, of Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Alysse, Mikayla and Cole Austin; brothers, Russell, Harold and David Austin; and sister, Dorothy Nash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Addis Austin and a sister, Delores Florimonte.A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008 with Rev. Steve Silvey officiating.The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will be at their respective homes.
