Obituary

Robert Curtis Gibson, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home. Born November 20, 1937, in Laurens, SC, he was the son of the late Russell Robert Gibson and Gatha Teasley Savage. Robert received his bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and his master's degree from Troy State. He was formerly a pharmaceutical representative with GSK and Syntex. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). He enjoyed traveling and sports and formerly played baseball with Anderson College. Robert was an avid Gamecock fan. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Dyar Gibson; and son, Russell R. Gibson of Eau Claire, WI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Retha Baker. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 am at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Dr. Austin Carty officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, www.cancer.org. The family will be at their respective homes.
