ROBERT E. GREEN Robert Eugene Green, age 83, of 3930 Trail Road, went to his Heavenly home upon his death at his residence on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Born in Franklin, NC, on May 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Arthur Lesher Green and the late Annie Lou Pressley Green. For 59 wonderful years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Emily Altman Green of the residence. Mr. Green proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was an electronic technician with the Federal Aviation Agency, retiring after 33 years of service. Mr. Green was a member of Dewdrop Lodge # 266 F&AM in Antreville. He was an amateur radio operator, K4UWM. Bob loved the outdoors. He was an avid gardner, and enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Asaville Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Emily, Mr. Green is survived by a son, Robert "Audie" Green (Jane) of Belton; a daughter, Debbie Green Wright (Billy) of Belton; two brothers, Arthur Lesher Green, Jr., and Jerry M. Green (Patsy) both of Franklin, NC; three sisters, Doris Rogers (Troy), Janet Teem, and Sue Blaine (Ricky), all of Franklin, NC; six grandchildren, Austin and Carson Green, Crystal Moore (Randall), Allison Andrews (Tony), and Jason and Seth Wright; and five great-grandchildren, Lance and Ryleigh Moore, Ashleigh McGill, and Landon and Logan Andrews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by a sister, Frankie Ann Green. The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Robert Green will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Asaville Baptist Church, with Rev. Drew Martin and Rev. Harold Walters officiating. Interment will follow at the Asaville Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends on Thursday, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Asaville Baptist Church.
