Robert Hartfield Hudson, age 97, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Cairo, GA, on June 22, 1918, he was the son of the late Robert Hartfield Hudson, Sr. and the late Bessie Connell Parkila. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. During WWII he was on the staff of General Cusada. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force. He was president of Atlanta Chapter of American Society of Training Directors and Chairman of Georgia State Advisory Committee having worked with three governors. He served on the national level of the US Secretary of Labor Advisory Committee. Robert was a consultant to Lockheed Missile and Space Company on the Columbia Space Shuttle.
He is survived by his wife, Jane McCurry Hudson; his daughter, Peggy Vaughn and her husband Cotton; his son, Greg McCurry and his wife Lori, of Anderson, SC; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Hudson; and one sister.
