Robert Stephen McAbee, age 45, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Born in Anderson, SC on September 5, 1970, he was the son of Lawrence Grady McAbee and Mercedes McHargue McAbee. He received a technical degree in truck driving and was a Certified Paralegal. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his aunts, Carolyn Wood, of Anderson, SC, Edna M. Smith, of Anderson, SC, Edna Earl McAbee, of Pendleton, SC, and Elsie McAbee, of Pendleton, SC; his uncles, Wayne McHargue and his wife Susan, of Richmond, VA, Carliss McHargue and his wife Diane, of Aiken, SC and Ernest McAbee, of Six Mile; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille Martin, Homer and Hazel McHargue ,and Joel and Nancy McAbee. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, February 12, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of his mother and father and will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 12, 2016, prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, in memory of Robert Stephen McAbee, PO Box 43, Anderson, SC 29622.
