Robert "Bob" Edward McCracken, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Born in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late William Lionel McCracken and the late Ruth Malan McCracken. He received a BS from Auburn University in 1981 and was employed with TTI as an Industrial Design Engineer. Bob received countless patents during his career as a designer. Bob was also an avid Auburn fan, loved boating, and singing karaoke. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Lynn McCracken; children, Malan Lynn McCracken, of Anderson, SC, William "Lee" Lionel McCracken, III and his wife Angela, of Marietta, GA, Robert "Robbie" Edward McCracken, Jr., of Marietta, GA, and Brian Novak McCracken and his fianc Andrea Kelsey, of Rock Hill, SC; brother, William "Bill" Lionel McCracken, Jr. and his wife Barbara, of Fairplay, CO; sisters, Susan McCracken White, of Birmingham, AL, and Cindy McCracken McIntyre and her husband Timothy, of Birmingham, AL; one grandson, Robert John McCracken and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rob White. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. The McCracken family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
