OBITUARY: Flag Anderson, SC ROBERT JOLLY POOLE Robert Jolly Poole, age 82, a resident of NHC of Anderson, formerly 3205 South Main Street, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson on October 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Robert Bailey Poole and the late Nelle Lucille Jones Poole. He was the husband of the late Bonnie Jean Combs Poole until her death in 1996. Mr. Poole was a graduate of Anderson Boys High School, Class of 1949, and received a BS degree in Engineering from the University of South Carolina. For 25 years, he was a civil engineer for the City of Anderson. Jolly was an avid Gamecocks fan and enjoyed fishing and all sports, especially football. Mr. Poole proudly served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Poole is survived by 2 sons, Robert E. Poole and James E. Swift, both of Anderson; a daughter, Patricia Cheatham of Starr; and a sister Loieta E. Stack of Pembrook Pines, FL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren. The funeral service honoring the life of Jolly Poole will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 2 PM, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
