Anderson Robert Shaw, Jr., age 83, husband of Dorothy Ann Shaw, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Jamaica, NY, on May 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Robert Shaw, Sr., and the late Josephine Krachie Shaw. A veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict, he was a graduate of Babylon High School. He was a retired lineman with Long Island Lighting, a member of Riverhead L.I. Moose Lodge, a member of the American Legion in both New York and South Carolina, and was very active with the Boy Scouts growing up. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Col. Robert Charles Shaw (Ret.) and his wife Meta Maria of Culpepper, VA; his daughter, Sandra Lee Walker and her husband Kevin of Sloan, IA; and two granddaughters, Caroline Elizabeth Shaw and Bianca Bechtold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Bradt. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 5:00 to 6:45 PM prior to the memorial service.
