Robert Harold Shiflett Anderson, SC Robert Harold Shiflett, age 87, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Richard Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home. Born in Anderson, SC on March 8, 1928, he was the son of the late William Shiflett and the late Martha Collins Shiflett. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Most of his time in service was spent on the USS Missouri as a gunner. He worked as an electrician throughout his career at Fluor-Daniel Construction. Robert was a member of Orrville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Cason Shiflett; three daughters, Barbara Shiflett, and Ann Shiflett both of Piedmont, SC, Wanda Rhodes, of Pelzer, SC; a son, Bill Wood, Virginia Beach, VA; five brothers, John Shiflett and Philmore Shiflett, both of Anderson, SC, Leroy Shiflett of Easley, SC, Rockwell Shiflett, of Indianapolis, IN, and David Shiflet, of Pensecola, FL; and a beloved granddaughter, Wendy Lynne Crisp Bryan and her husband Mark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rubert, Jerry, Freddie, and Doug Shiflett; and a sister, Ida Mae Shiflett. The Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Chaplain Michael Linkins officiating. The family will be at their respective residences and will receive friends on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home.
