Simpson, age 87, of 4205 Old Williamston Road and husband of late Frances D. Simpson, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born on March 29, 1923, in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Waymond Simpson and Ada Fisher Simpson. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from Duke Power. Mr. Simpson was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church and was a member of the Hoyt Masonic Lodge.Survivors include his children: Steven Simpson of Laurens, Timothy Simpson of Anderson, Vickie Phillips of Pelzer, Laura Daws of Hartwell, Ledina Roberts of Pelzer; brother, Willis Trilby Michael of Anderson; sisters: Lucy Wall of Charleston, and Annie Laurie Clardy of Williamston; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by siblings: Hubert Simpson, Woodrow Simpson, S.T.
