Robert Gordon Smith, 72, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Rainey Hospice House. Born April 10, 1947 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Jennie Erwin Smith. Bob was a graduate of Boys High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Hammett Temporary Service for several years and had also managed Phillips Staffing. He was previously employed with the Anderson Co. Unemployment Office and attended Hope Fellowship. He is survived by his wife, Jean Smith of the home; son, Stacy Kelley (Kim) of Buford, GA; daughter Sheryl Page (Benson) of Anderson; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Chad and Todd Smith. A graveside service will be at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 3:00pm with Rev. Mark Gasque officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
