Thompson, MD, age 84, of 107 Victoria Circle died on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Willow Creek Living Center in Iva, SC.Born in Knoxville, TN on July 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Charles Deadrick Thompson & Ella Day Thompson. He was a graduate of Duke University and the Duke Medical School. Dr. Thompson was a retired medical doctor having practiced in Anderson for forty years. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the South Carolina Medical Society, the Sertoma Club, and a volunteer at CleanStart. He was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church.Survivors include his children: Charles B. Thompson and wife Beverly of Lyons, GA, Robert G. Thompson, II, MD, and wife Bridgett of Knoxville, TN, and Mary L. Thompson of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Beth Thompson of Atlanta, Emily & Elizabeth Thompson, both of Knoxville, TN.In addition to Dr. Thompson's parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2006, the late Elizabeth Hines 'Ren' Thompson.A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11am at Old Silver Brook Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend John B.
