Robert "Bobby" Raymond Young, age 70, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born December 2, 1950, in Mount Clemens, MI, he was the son of the late Robert R. Young and Gladys Worden. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Mae Dumpprope Young; brothers, Larry and Thomas Young; and sister and brother in law, Debbie and Johnny Ellison. Bobby was an electrical engineer and a veteran of the Army National Guard. Bobby was a wonderful family man. His greatest joy was being around his loved ones. He had a kind and generous heart and he never met a stranger. His welcoming, loving, and even humorous demeanor touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was a mentor and the "Rock" for all who knew him. He led by example and everyone wanted to follow him and impress him with their accomplishments, that he had often inspired. He was the best husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. His shoes will be hard to fill. To know him is to love him. He was an amazing man and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyliss Darlene Stover Young; sons, John "Ashley" Poston (Lisa) of Amarillo, TX, and Robert "Chase" Young (Megan) of Anderson, SC; daughter, Valerie "Paige" Wall (Christopher) of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Justin Thompson (Autumn), Devon Wall (Grace), Courtney Wall (Alexander Poore), Coleton Young, Landen Young, and Jaxson Young; great grandchildren, Cadence Thompson, Jack Thompson, and Raelynn Poore; brothers, Ronald Young (Linda) of Amarillo, TX, Eugene Young (Joanne) of Fresno, CA, Douglas Young (Belinda) of Jackson, TN, Anthony Young (Susan) of Amarillo, TX, William Young (Hope) of Amarillo, TX, Jeffery Young (Susie) of Amarillo TX, Harry Young of Jackson, TN, Timothy Young (Lisa) of Anderson, SC, Steven Young (Brenda) of Amarillo TX, and Raymond Young (Angela) of Anderson, SC; and sisters, Sherry Spencer of Rhinelander, WI, Rita O'Donnell (Harry) of Anderson, SC, and Carol Young Baldock of Amarillo, TX. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home.
