Roger Hoyt Glenn, age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at home.

Born January 13, 1952, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Hoyt Boyd Glenn and Maddie Lou Porter Glenn. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Glenn and his wife Shirley; sister, Janet Risner and her husband Jimmy; and son-in-law, Jerry Broome.

Roger loved the outdoors and could often be found sitting outside watching nature all around him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing at Santee, and camping, especially in the mountains. He loved a good meal cooked on the grill and watching TV whether it was movies, westerns, the news, or the History Channel. More than anything, Roger loved his family and spending as much time with them as he could.

He is survived by his daughter, Carla Broome; sons, Roger "Tim" Glenn (Lovella), Robert Dawkins, and David Dawkins (Vickie); sister, Helen Sutherland (Bobby); grandchildren, Tessala Glenn, Johnny Roach, Magen Broome, Bryan Glenn, David Dawkins, Robert Dawkins, and Terence Johnson; and great grandchildren, LilyRose Glenn, Creed Glenn, and Paisleigh Capps.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Rippy as celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
