OBITUARY / FLAGROLAND J. McCLAINAUGUST 27, 1922 - June 29, 2008BELTON, SCRoland James McClain, age 85, of Major Road passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at his home.Born in Oconee County on August 27, 1922, he was a son of the late Bert O. McClain and Bertha Smith McClain. He was a veteran of World War II having served three years in the United States Army and over twenty-six years in the National Guard.Mr. McClain retired from Orr-Lyons Mill after forty years of service in the textile industry. He was a member of Trinity Springs Church of God.Survivors include his wife, Julia D. Edwards McClain of the home; two daughters, June Richey of Anderson and Lisa Edwards Holden of Belton; one son, Mark W. Edwards of Greenville, SC; one half sister, Linda Prince of Starr; one half brother, Herman McClain of Grand Rapids, SD. Also surviving are five grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his first wife, Eloise Carter McClain; and a daughter, Betty Ann Bell.The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Trinity Springs Church of God conducted by the Reverend James Patterson, the Reverend Boyd King, and the Reverend Mack Tester.
