Roland Roy Stills, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Bryant, OK, on October 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Henry Willis Stills and the late Madie Adams Stills. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Roland retired from Phillips Petroleum Company after 36 years of service. He was a quiet natured man who enjoyed such things as golfing with his sons and watching wildlife. Roland was the #1 Oklahoma Sooner Fan in South Carolina. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Melavene "Mel" Martin Stills; four children, Michael Stills and his wife Denise, of Albuquerque, NM, Martin Stills and his wife Denise, of Easley, SC, Mitchell Stills and his wife Teresa, of Seneca, SC, and Melissa Montemayor and her husband Amadeo, of League City, TX; seven grandchildren, Erin Myers, Chris Stills, Lindsay Szwed, Nick Stills, Ashley Moorhead, Ryan Davis, Karah Glass; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Stills and his wife Sherry, of Edmond, OK. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Stills; and a brother-in-law and life-long friend, Oscar Daves. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Stills will be held at Concord Baptist Church on Friday, March 30, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Bill Parnell. Interment will be held at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, OK at a later date.
