Ronald Sherman Branyon, Sr., age 71, of Anderson, SC, joined his parents in Heaven on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Born June 14, 1952, in Anderson, he was a son of the late Prue Branyon, Jr. and Martha Mildred Wilson Branyon.

Ron was a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS NOA DD-841. He previously worked for Minyard's Garage and taught auto body repair at Tri County Technical College. He was a Claims Adjuster and Arson Investigator for Allstate for over 20 years before retiring. Ron was also a Boy Scout Troop Leader for many years. He was a great storyteller and a history buff with a special affinity for genealogy. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and hanging out at "Grandad's Store".

He is survived by his children, Danae King (Paul), Ron Branyon, Jr. (Ashley), Kenneth Branyon (Misty), Joey Lee (Lori), Christina Fields (Casey), and Jake Branyon (Somer); grandchildren, Zak Tippett (Mo), Drake Lee, Kolby Tippett, McKenzie Finley, Madison Lee, Indiana Fields, Prue Branyon, Ryelan Branyon, Guy King, and Paisley Branyon; great grandchild, Ever Tippett; 2 sisters, 1 brother, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Pastor John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery.
