Ronald Leon Christenbury, 74, of Starr, SC died Friday, December 2nd, 2016 at An-Med Health Medical Center. Ronald was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva. Ronald leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Stamps Christenbury of 55 years, his children: Mike and Jennifer Christenbury; grandchildren: Graylyn, Kaitlyn, and Amberlyn; a sister: Janet Sinclair; and two brothers: Kenny and David Christenbury. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents John and Iva Lee Childress Christenbury; brothers: Steve, Jim, John, and Rick Christenbury; and one sister: Dot Addison. Ronald Graduated from Boys High in 1961. After returning from service to his country in Vietnam, he began building homes with his father in law establishing C & S Home Builders. He later worked for First Federal as a maintenance supervisor. During his time at First Federal he worked with the Christmas in April program using his talents as a carpenter to help others repair their homes. During his Christian walk he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member, Outreach Leader, RA Leader, Assisted with Vacation Bible School, and helped with a van ministry. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5th, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Iva with the Rev. Jerry Gray and Rev. Roger Estridge officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Christenbury family will receive friends on Sunday night, December 4th, 2016 from 5:00p.m-7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
