In loving memory of Ronald Lee Smith, of Anderson, SC, who was born on August 27, 1936, and peacefully entered his heavenly home on Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was greeted in eternal bliss by his beloved daughter, Shannon S. Hamilton, his parents, Reverend John D. Smith and Blanche Smith, his sisters, Brenda Gunter and Sharon Blalock, as well as his brothers, Dennis "Rusty" Smith and Stanley Smith. Ronald is survived by his cherished wife of 67 years, Tommie Smith, and his daughters Teresa Hatcher, Allison Hungate (Vince) and son-in-law Tracy Hamilton. Ronald's legacy lives on through his adoring grandchildren: Meredith Burgueno (Marco), Whitney Huskamp (Derrick), Brooks Hungate (Mary), Mickey Hungate (Lauren), Taylor Gonzalez (Cody), Madison O'Halloran (Sean), and his great-grandchildren Marco and Evi Burgueno, Peyton and Macon Huskamp, and Millie O'Halloran. Throughout his remarkable life of 87 years, Ronald faithfully loved his wife, Tommie, his three daughters, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He will forever be affectionately remembered as "Papa Woo Woo!" After dedicating 32 years of his career to Wickes Lumber, Ronald retired in 1991. He was a devoted charter member of High Praises Church. Ronald cherished moments spent with friends and family, effortlessly connecting with everyone he encountered. His love knew no bounds, and he was a cherished husband, father, "Papa Woo Woo," and faithful friend. The funeral service to honor Ronald's life will be held at High Praises Church located at 4506 Midway Rd., Williamston, SC 29697 on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm officiated by Rev. Chris Sustar, Rev. Tracy Hamilton, and Rev. Vince Hungate. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm to provide an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and share fond memories.
