RONNIE STRATTON January 4, 1935 - September 13, 2005IVA, SCMr. Ronald Norman Stratton, age 70, of 823 Barnes Station Road, Iva, SC, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Elbert County, Georgia on January 4, 1935, Mr. Stratton was the son of the late Ira Wall Stratton and Madge Conwell Stratton. He was retired from Jackson Mills in Iva as a Lab Supervisor. He served in the United States Army Reserve. He was a graduate of Iva High School, Iva, SC and Forrest College, Anderson, SC. He was a member of Union Baptist Church; a choir member; choir president; Sunday School secretary for many years and a member of the Men's Bible Class.Survivors include two sisters, Florine Stratton Ozmint and her husband, Milton of Iva, SC and Lorene Stratton McAlister of Honea Path, SC; nephews, Kenneth McAlister of Ware Shoals, SC and Milt Ozmint of Simpsonville, SC; nieces, Janice Ashley and Sharon Parker, both of Honea Path, SC, Arden Garner of Mullins, SC, Dianne Burdette of Abbeville, SC and Beth Bruce of Anderson, SC. Nineteen great-nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leonora Stratton Thomas, brother-in-laws, J. B. Thomas, Jr., and Harold McAlister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 3:00 pm at Union Baptist Church in Iva by the Reverend Ronnie Powell and Charles Hayes. Interment will follow in New Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elbert County, GA.The family received friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
