ROSIE LEE DOKER Rosie Lee Doker, age 91, a lifelong resident of L Street, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Rainey Hospice House. Born on December 2, 1923, in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Emmanuel Doker, Sr. and the late Bertha Durham Doker. Rosie was retired from Appleton Mills after 40 years of service. She was a faithful supporter of Meals on Wheels, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was active as long as her health would permit. Survivors include a brother, John Emmanuel Doker, Jr., of Anderson; nieces, Susan Walden and her husband Joe, of Anderson; Karen Mize and husband, Gordon, of Anderson, Veronica Porter of Simpsonville, and Lynn Pettus and her husband, Cliff, of Iva; nephews, John Doker, Phil Doker and his wife, Betty, of Anderson, and Rick Doker of Iva; a very special great-nephew, James David Johnson of Simpsonville; also surviving are many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by a son, Charles Thomas "Tommy" Doker; 3 brothers, James, Matthew and Joseph Doker; 6 sisters, Josephine Doker, Catherine Felker, Nell Vickery, Mary Lou Carnes, Ann Cromer, and Janie Canady; and a special nephew Mick Felker. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Ignatius Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective residences and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, February 19, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary service scheduled at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels - Anderson, PO Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
