Barber, age 77, husband of Jacqueline 'Jackie' Ware Barber of 129 Pennell Road, Iva, SC, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Versailles, Missouri on March 5, 1929, Mr. Barber was a son of the late Luther Barber and Marie Dilli Barber. He was a former sales representative with Roberts Pharmaceuticals and served in the United States Navy. He was president of Lake Secession Rocky River Property Association, member of the Lions Club, an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva where he served as an usher. Survivors include his wife, of the home; sons, Kim Barber of Newton, NC and Don Wooten of Keystone Heights, FL; daughters, Sue Barber of Clinton, SC, Betty Teachey of Abbeville, SC and Kathy Holtman of Augusta, GA; brother, Don Barber of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Tillie Cowan of La Crescenta, CA, Wilma Taylor of Elkins, WVA, Arletta Erickson of Casper, WY and Juanita Pearson of Lebanon, MO; seven grandchildren including a granddaughter raised in the home, Cheri Edwards; seven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Frank Albright.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Michael Wooten; brothers, Melvin Barber and Bill Barber and a sister, Vera Bonine.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 11:30 am at the First Baptist Church of Iva officiated by the Reverend Jerry Gray. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
