Roy E. Merck, age 68, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. Born May 15, 1953, in Pickens, SC, he was a son of the late Floyd Junior Merck and Essie Devolia Wood Riddle. Roy owned Crystal Clear Pools for 33 years. He never met a stranger, loved people and had a very giving heart. In his spare time, Roy enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach and mountains, and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his partner in life, Vickie Merck; sisters, Judy Ann Myers (Tommy) of Coila, MS, Sheila Mathis of Central, SC, Mary Ramey (Jimmy) of Seneca, SC, and Jan Southerland (Billy) of Pickens, SC; and brothers, Rick Merck of Cleveland, SC, David Merck (Teresa Mills) of Williamston, SC, and Randy Merck (Linda) of Six Mile, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Lee Merck. The family will receive friends Friday, August 13, 2021, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
