ROY CLIFFORD PIERCE

Roy Clifford Pierce, affectionately known as "Daddy Roy", passed away suddenly at his home and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 11, 2013.
Born in Gainesville, GA, on February 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Paul Farmer and the late Jessie Mae Pierce Farmer. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He spent his career in textiles working at Appleton then retiring at Mt. Vernon Mills. He was currently employed by Defender Services as a Security Guard at Temkin International, Inc. in Honea Path, SC.
Roy was a devoted husband and loving father. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Barbara Shaw Pierce; his children, Cathy Pierce, Ricky Pierce and his wife Laurie, Vicki Taylor and Tony Pierce; a brother, Frank Farmer, all of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Charlotte, Samson, Tiffany, Bethany, Troy, and Brittany; and six great-grandchildren, Carter, Riley, Trenton, Abigail, Zane and Mason; all of whom will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Farmer; and his grandparents, Luther and Amy Pierce.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Noon. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
