Roy Claude Pike July 14, 1930 - May 23, 2012 Anderson, SC Roy Claude Pike, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Richard M. Campbell VA Nursing Home. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Acie Claude Pike and the late Lila Richie Pike. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from West Point Pepperell after 46 years of service. Mr. Pike was an avid supporter of "Walk With The Docs". He was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church for 31 years. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Pike Bray Mauldin and her husband David and two grandchildren, Crystal and Nathan Bray. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Ellen Stamps Pike; a brother, Kenneth Pike; and a sister, Sarah Pike. The Funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Pike will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Reverend Jerry Parnell, Dr. Kirt Mitchell, and Reverend Phil Sears will officiate. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm.
