Roy A. Stephens, 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Brookdale of Anderson. Born March 26, 1935 in Anderson, SC, he was a son to the late Clyde Stephens and the late Mable Thomas Stephens. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, a sister and a niece. Roy retired from Fiberglas after 37 years of service as a welder. He was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Sims Stephens; son, Thomas Stephens (Janice); daughter, Sara Ann Martin (Mike); stepson, Teddy Sims (Georgia); stepdaughter, Terry Sims Starnes (Tommy); brother, Joe Stephens (Linda); three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and caregiver, Terry Starnes. The family will receive friends from 10am-11 am Saturday, July 14, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:15 am with Rev. Bob Clardy officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes.
