Ruby Nell Whitfield Bailey, age 99, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Anderson.

Born June 6, 1924, in Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Hansel Whitfield and Mary Etta Mize Whitfield. She was married for 69 years to F.O. Bailey until his death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings, Lee Vaughn, Eunice Webb, Ruzie Brock, Zelma Dodgens, Genny Harbin, Mary Ruth Evans, Betty Baker, Joe and Larry Whitfield.

She enjoyed working at Sterling Printing Company. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie Bailey Parker (Chuck); son, Farris O. Bailey, Jr. (Ann); grandchildren, Chad Parker (Kristen), and Keith Parker (Casey); great grandchildren, Addison, Hadley, Landon, and Aiden; and brothers, Billy, Johnny, and Wade Whitfield.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Gordy Craft officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the F.O. Bailey Scholarship Fund at Oakwood Baptist Church, 304 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, SC 29625.
