RUBY B. GREENWAY Ruby B. Greenway of Anderson went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2012, upon her death at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Nellie Stewart McConnell. She was married to the late Buddy Greenway until his death in 1999. Mrs. Greenway was a 1976 Graduate of the Clemson College School of Nursing. For twenty years she was a registered nurse at Anderson Memorial Hospital. Prior to her career in nursing she was employed by Owens Corning Fiberglass Company. She is a former member of Garner Memorial Baptist Church, and currently a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Ruby was an active volunteer in the community, giving of her time and talent to the Anderson Free Clinic and Hospice of the Upstate. Survivors include a son, David Barnes of Covington, GA; 2 daughters, Beth Stephens of Anderson and Doris Reid of Sandy Springs; step children, Steve Greenway and Jimmy Lou Spearman, both of Anderson, and Reba Belk of Columbia; devoted cousins Larry and Jackie Stewart of Anderson. She was loved by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 3 PM, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jack Couch officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM. Mrs. Greenway was a devoted Christian whose kind heart and loving spirit has blessed and inspired the lives of all who knew her.
