Obituary

Ruby Lupo, 95, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed.

Ruby was born April 10, 1931, in Lake View, South Carolina, and married in Dillon, South Carolina, December 29, 1945, to former husband Joseph Tillman Lupo.

Ruby attended Lake View Schools. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College and completed coursework at Forrest College in Anderson, South Carolina. She retired from The City of Anderson, Public Works Department. She was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church for 60 years.

She enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed antiques and refinishing furniture. She loved hosting Thanksgiving dinner for her large family and had the most loved macaroni and cheese in the world.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Stancil and her son Joe Carlis Lupo as well as several sisters and brothers and her parents, Betsy Ann Rouse and William Burnice Church, Sr.

She is survived by her son Robbie Lupo of Columbia, South Carolina; her son Michael Lupo (Susan) of Dahlonega, Georgia; her son Phillip D. Lupo (Desiree) of Vidalia, Georgia and her beloved grandchildren, Sonja Lupo McCaslin (Mark); Andrew Lupo (Katherine); Ruthie Shuman (James); Robert Lupo (Nichole); David Lupo; Michael E. Lupo (Daniele Feuillbois); Josh Lupo (Erin Clark-Lupo); Phillip Lupo (Shelby); Brendan Lupo and 7 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Susan Lupo officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 pm.
