('Betty') Swaney, 82, resident of Abbeville, SC, widow of the late John Henry Swaney, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, after a long and courageous battle.Born November 2, 1926, in Caroline, NC, she was a daughter of the late Ramson Hooper and Johnnie Myrtle Wells Hooper. She loved and protected her family and will be greatly missed.Surviving are two sons, John Watson Swaney and Luke Woody Swaney, both of Pendleton, SC; three daughters, Patricia Etta Hensley of Gastonia, NC, Johnnie Frances Waters of Augusta, GA and Hallie Marchelle Barnes of Abbeville, Sc; 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, February 15, 2009, at Fant's Grove Baptist Church, Pendleton, SC.
