Ruby Nell Osborne Watson, known affectionately as "Sister," passed away on New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, 2018. Born in the Reed Creek Community of Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Coleman Osborne and the late Jessie Allen Osborne. For forty-nine years, she was the devoted wife of Alonzo Daniel Watson until his death in 1992. Mrs. Watson had a passion for caring for her home and her family. She was an excellent cook, which brought pleasure to many over the years. Mrs. Watson was a faithful member of the House of Prayer. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy W. Broome and her husband, Randall, and Jenny W. Mitchell and her husband, Terry, both of Anderson; two grandchildren, Holly and Jared Mitchell, both of Anderson; many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Ellen Speer; and five brothers, O.C., Lev, Lester, Sidney, and Jim Osborne. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Sister Watson will be held at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jerry Nation and Mr. Harry Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at their respective homes, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Watson may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
