RUDOLPH ELGIN December 16, 1930 - October 24, 2006STARR, SCMr. Rudolph ' Pappy'Elgin, age 75, of 1324 Farmer Road, Starr, SC, husband of the late Margaret Avanell Gibson Elgin, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Belton, SC on December 16, 1930, Mr. Elgin was a son of the late Lonnie I. Elgin and Codie Mara Sloan Elgin. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Orr Mill after thirty years of service and the retired from Michelin Tire Manufacturing after sixteen years of service. He was a member of the Anderson F. & A.M. Lodge # 240 and Middleton Road Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Keith Elgin; a daughter, Codie D. Franks, both of Starr, SC; one granddaughter, Braiden Nicole Elgin and a brother, Rayford Elgin of Anderson, SC.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson and three sisters.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Brad Hanks. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.
