Rudolph Latham, age 86, of Anderson, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home. Born in Iva, SC on July 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Boss Latham and the late Mary Campbell Latham. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Lillian Anna Curran Latham until her death in 2015. Mr. Latham proudly served his country in the US Navy for approximately nine years. He was the owner and operator of Latham's Texaco which was located on Murray Avenue in Anderson. Surviving are two sons, Rudy James Latham and his wife, Donna of Anderson, Gregory Daniel Latham and his wife Denise of Anderson; two daughters, Shari L. Herndon and her husband Eddie of Anderson, and Lucy Latham Corley and her husband Scott of Columbia; a brother, Major Latham of Anderson; two sisters, Lillian Latham of Anderson, and Reba Banich also of Anderson. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Lillian, Mr. Latham was preceded in death by brothers Robert, Gene, David, and Dwaine Latham; and sisters, Loneta Dunn and Elizabeth Tucker. The family would like to thank the staff of the Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home for the loving care they provided Mr. Latham during his residency there. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Rudolph Latham will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Bishop Scott King officiating. Interment will follow at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the McDougald Funeral Home.
