Rufus "Buddy" Patterson Anderson Rufus Daniel "Buddy" Patterson, age 75, passed away on December 14, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, on May 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Clyde Elmer Patterson and the late Grace Inez Powell Patterson. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in the shipping department for more than 40 years. Rufus was an avid golfer, softball player, devoted NASCAR fan and a former member of Osborne Avenue Church of God. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 91:11, For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. He is survived by three sons, Marshall Danny Patterson and his wife Sandra, of Anderson, SC, Tommy Lee Patterson, of Starr, SC and Timothy Shane Patterson, of Pendleton, SC; a brother, David Patterson and his wife Dianne, of Anderson, SC; two sisters, Martha Rollison, of Taylors, SC and Sarah McCollum, of Powdersville, SC and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Darlene Patterson. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. with Reverend Sam Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
