Buck of 311 Simpson Road, Anderson, SC, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at Anderson Place in Anderson, SC.Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was a resident of Butler Maryland until moving to South Carolina in1954. She was a graduate of Sprayer Business College in Baltimore and Forrest College in Anderson and was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture until her retirement in 1984. Mrs. Buck was a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church and was extensively involved in church and civic activities. A former Girl Scout leader, knowledgeable stamp collector, expert gardener and skilled golfer, she brought enthusiasm and energy to everything she did, and was greatly loved by her friends and family.Mrs. Buck was predeceased by her husband of forty-seven years, Mr. Howard D. Buck, her daughter, Mrs. Penny B. Miner of Kodiak, Alaska and her sister, Doris Kessler of El Paso, Texas and her parents, William Henry Pearson and Irene Klaproth Pearson. She is survived by brothers, William H. Pearson, Jr., of Theodore, Alabama and Wallace Pearson of Sebastian, Florida and by her sister, Grace Walker of Palm Coast, Florida; and daughter, Mrs. Linda B. Vandiver and her husband, Richard of Ridgeway, South Carolina; grandchildren, Mrs. Kimberly Andrew of Wenatchee, Washington, Mrs. Regan Moir of Kodiak, Alaska, Mr. Richard A. Vandiver Jr., of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mrs. Courtney Travis of Cheney, Washington and seven great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church officiated by the Reverend John B. Hardaway, IV. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Mausoleum in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
