RUTH JORDAN October 2, 1907 - November 5, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Ruth Jordan, age 101 of 2410 Midway Road, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Vicars, West Virginia on October 2, 1907, Mrs. Jordan was the wife of the late Harry Jordan and the daughter of the late John Wesley Vicars and Minnie Stanley Vicars. She was a graduate of the University of Charleston, Charleston, West Virginia and was a school teacher with the Kanawha County West Virginia schools for 38 years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.Survivors include her two sons, Harry L. Jordan and Larry A. Jordan; three grandchildren, Mark C. Jordan, Kim J. Sullivan, Mary Beth Jordan and three great-grandchildren, Daniel J. Sullivan, Marta Jo Sullivan and Jordan Sullivan.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jacqueline Jordan; brothers, Johnny, William and Paul Vicars and sisters, Ruby Shaffer, Florence Vicars and Virginia Wilkerson. Mrs. Jordan was the last surviving member of her immediate family.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Dale Bradley.
