RUTH B. PARRIS Ruth Irene Blanton Parris, age 83, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Rocky River Assisted Living in Belton. Born on September 13, 1930, in Earl, NC, she was a daughter of the late Kenyon A. and Pati Irene Richards Blanton. Mrs. Parris retired from Michelin Tire Company after 16 years of employment. She was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 daughters, Phyllis Kimbrell of Spartanburg, Teresa Ward and husband, Wayne, of Greer, and Lisa Smith and husband David W., of Anderson; a sister, Ailene Wilson of Williamston; also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by 5 sisters. A memorial service, celebrating and honoring the life of Ruth B. Parris will be held at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Marcia Stow officiating. The family will be at the home of Lisa and David Smith, 116 Bertha Drive, Anderson. No visitation is scheduled.
