RUTH ROWLAND March 19, 1932 - July 16, 2013 PENDLETON, SC Annie Ruth Howard Rowland, age 81, of Pendleton, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in LaFrance, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Howard and the late LuOla Nix Howard. She retired from Gallant Belk after many years of service as a sales associate in the Fine Jewelry Department. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and devoted wife for over 60 years. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and steadfast friend to all who knew her. She was a member of LaFrance First Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Marshall Allen Rowland, of the home; a daughter, Marsha Rowland Browne, her husband, Dr. Geoffrey Browne, and their children, Meredith Compton Browne and Hannah Elizabeth Browne, all of Burlington, NC; and a brother, Charles Frank Howard and his wife Doris Craft Howard, of Anderson. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruth Rowland will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013, at 11:00 AM at LaFrance First Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Burdette, Reverend Mike Cothran, Pastor Albert Couch and Pastor Mark Duncan officiating. Pallbearers will be Ken Rowland, Vance Rowland, John Rowland, Louie Rowland, Jr., Jamie Barnes and Reverend Mark Duncan. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
