RUTH COBB THOMSON October 2, 1929 - November 26, 2012 TOWNVILLE, SC Ruth Cobb Thomson, age 83, of Townville, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Albert H. Jordan and the late Alice Dunn. She was a loving mother, grandmother and caretaker. Ruth was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Ruth Durham of Townville, SC, Terry Oakley of Townville, SC, Jeanette Wood and her husband Randy of Seneca, SC, Billy Ray Cobb of Townville, SC and David Paul Cobb and his wife Jennifer of Westminster, SC: ten grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and her special dog, Brownie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Furman Cobb; and two sons, Robert Mitchell Cobb and Gary Lane Cobb. Ruth was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 12:30 pm with Reverend David Blizzard officiating. Interment will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery, Fair Play, SC. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Terry, 1024 Hattons Ford Road, Townville, SC, and will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
