Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Samuel E. Dixon and Fredda Holmes Dixon of Anderson, SC. He was a graduate of Crescent High School. He was employed at Timken Corporation in Honea Path. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle. Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, sons, Matthew Joseph Dixon and Aubrey Dixon both of Anderson, SC; sisters, Pamela Ann Black and her husband, Frank of Easley, SC, Rebecca Furtick and her husband, Kevin of Anderson, SC. A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Joe will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Boring, Pastor Samuel Dixon, and Pastor Charles Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in the Iva City Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Samuel and Fredda Dixon, 230 Thompson Road, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
