He retired from the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran in the 82nd Airborne Special Forces. During his tenure with the Army, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Silver Service Star, Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Parachutist Badge, Good Conduct Medal (5th AWD), and Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of Clemson Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Kyong Suk 'Suky' Rowland of the home and by his children; Zackery George Rowland, Ki Nam Kim of Dallas TX, and Ki Sun Brissey of Anderson; brothers, Ted Rowland and Roy Rowland, both of Anderson; sisters, Maggie McClellan and Ann Evatt, both of Anderson and ten grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he is survived by sons, Dewey Rowland and Terry Rowland.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow in M. J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors by the US Army.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 27, 2008 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
