Samuel Harold Watson, age 73, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born November 18, 1947, in Charleston, SC, and was the son of the late Harold Watson and Marketer Partridge Hughes. He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Neal H. Hughes. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Sara Norton Watson; daughter, Amanda Watson Cole (Corey); brother, Ronnie Watson (Dedra); and sisters, Anita Bolt and Jane Bente (Gary). The family will receive friends Monday, April 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. David Barfield and Rev. Hugh Burgess officiating along with Samuel's best friend, Mr. William "Bill" Childs. Interment will follow at the Veterans Garden at Forest Lawn Memorial Park .
