IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra
Ramsey
April 26, 1946 – April 4, 2025
Sandra Compton Ramsey, 78, of Anderson, SC, met her Savior on Friday, April 4, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center.
She was born on April 26, 1946, one of five children, to the late Louise Brown Chambers. Sandra was also predeceased by her sister, Beverly Stegall. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Sandra worked with BellSouth, now known as AT&T, for 32 years. She was a dedicated, hardworking, and loyal employee and moved up in the ranks during her tenure. She enjoyed sewing and always thought of quilting, but that long-term commitment could have interfered with beach trips, camping trips or cooking. She was an excellent cook, specializing in spaghetti. She loved to travel, especially loving a trip to Hawaii.
In high school she met James M. "Mike" Ramsey who stole her heart. On their first date, he took her bowling. Later they began roller skating together and literally danced, on skates, around the rink. Eventually they married and traveled to Gatlinburg, TN for a honeymoon. She loved Mike and her boys, but the grands captured her heart and world. All will miss her happiness, love, devotion, and spaghetti.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, James M. Ramsey; sons, Kevin Ramsey and Jason Ramsey, Grandchildren: Jacob Ramsey, Calab Ramsey, Alex Ramsey, and Austin Ramsey; brothers, Larry Compton, and Brian Chambers; sister, Lisa Ivester; and daughter-in-law, Misty Ramsey.
The family will greet family and friends Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at The McDougald Funeral Home from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. A crypt side service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Don Cox will officiate.
The family will be at the residence.
