Sara King Moore, age 99, of Clemson, SC, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at her home. Born April 19, 1924, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Broadus Bolt King and Beulah Threatt King. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lester Lee Moore; a son, Bobby Wright; two brothers, Hilton King and B.B. King, Jr.; a sister, Elizabeth McConnell and grandsons, Jeffery Wright and Joshua Spinks. She was a wonderful cook who lovingly took care of her family and strangers as well. She was best known in the Clemson area as "Mama Sara" because she was indeed a mother to her community. She willingly gave of her time to help anyone in need without expecting recognition or anything in return. Mama Sara could be found playing the piano at church and community events. Bringing joy and sharing her wonderful smile with everyone was truly her mission in life. She is survived by her four daughters, Deborah Biscontini (Arnold), Diana Vaughan (Robert), Terri Martin (Randy), and Kimberly Gehle. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 12 noon at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dalton Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel immediately following the service.
